How to create a meaningful meeting

Meetings are important channels in leading change. Odd Agency designs and leads meetings that contribute to strategic movement. The audiences we work with range from 5 to 1000 participants. Regardless the size of the forum, we have five principles we stay true to. This ensures we make a difference for people, organisations and societies.
1. PURPOSE IS EVERYTHING Why are you meeting? Are you looking to communicate a new strategy? Innovate and co-create? Inspire engagement and inclusion? Build a team? Drive individual insights? The overarching purpose affects the format and content of the meeting.
2. END-USER PERSPECTIVE Who is coming? Will they travel far to get there? Will they be in a rush entering the venue? Have the participants met before? Are there natural groupings in the crowd? We apply an end-user perspective when designing and producing meetings to achieve impact on group- as well as individual level.
3. INTERACTION IS KEY How do you engage with your audience? For us, interaction is key for creating meaning for participants. We use tools and methods centered around dialogue to create trust and unleash creativity.
4. LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION Where do you meet? Will the physical space and its surroundings support your message to the audience? We acknowledge the impact and strength of all kinds of sensory input part of a learning process. Therefore, we always seek out meeting locations that can offer new perspectives or enhance the experience as well as the content of a meeting.
5. TOPICS OR TOP PICKS? What will you engage your audience in? A traditional meeting plan normally starts with bullet points forming the first draft of an agenda. We suggest to choose your topics carefully, basing it on the purpose of the meeting, the end-user perspective and the process in which the forum takes place. A careful selection of topics honours your participants time and attention as well as the topic being presented. The selection of content is best done together with key stakeholders in the process.
